Watch: Icicle reveals his live setup

Watch as DJ and producer Icicle, a.k.a. Jereon Snik, lifts the curtain on his current setup, explaining how he uses TRAKTOR, MASCHINE, and KOMPLETE KONTROL live.

With a hybrid audio, visual live setup, DJ and producer Icicle showcases his approach to performance in these two studio videos.

A predominant force within the drum and bass community, Icicle a.k.a. Jereon Snik, is the man behind a wide array of hit records including 2011’s “Dreadnaught”, and “Problem”, taken from his second LP Entropy released on Shogun Audio. Known for his hard-edged drum and bass, Icicle’s sound also encompasses a mixture of dubstep and bass music influences, creating a cohesive balance that blends together a variety of genres.

In addition to being an innovative force in the studio, Icicle’s live setup – a hybrid audio-visual performance that combines TRAKTOR, MASCHINEMASCHINE JAM, and KOMPLETE KONTROL – is one that gives him total versatility. Triggering track Stems using the TRAKTOR D2 controllers, he can then add additional percussion using the MASCHINE, melodies on the KOMPLETE KONTROL, and other sound effects, processes, and audio manipulation tools. Explaining the processes behind his live setup, Icicle breaks down his approach to performing, while providing a demonstration of the gear in action.
