Watch: Imogen Heap demonstrates the MI.MU Gloves at ADE

Music and tech adventurist Imogen Heap demonstrates how she uses the MI.MU gloves in her performance and compositions. Filmed live at Native Sessions during ADE, Heap explains how the wearable-controllers interact with her software choices, while performing and showcasing how the gloves trigger effects and intuitively work with her music.

 
As the highlight of a full weekend of workshops, presentations, and panels, Imogen Heap took to the main hall at ADE Sound Lab for a special lecture on technology and performance. Having helped spearhead the development of the MI.MU Gloves, the British songwriter and producer guided the crowd through the instrument’s interface, and showing how it interacted with REAKTOR. Following a short performance, Heap went on to present Mycelia, the Blockchain project that aims to empower a more sustainable music industry ecosystem, and will be the basis for the launch of the ‘Creative Passport’, a new proposed standard for identifying in real-time, all the components and musicians and collaborators that go into released music.
