8. Alicia Keys

16-time Grammy winner, singer-songwriter, pianist and producer Alicia Keys combines R&B and classical sensibilities to create her distinctive sound. In 2018 she was honored by The Recording Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing for her outstanding artistic contributions.

Composer, songwriter, and producer Ludwig Göransson has a gigantic body of work including production on Childish Gambino’s “This is America”, music for TV series Community, New Girl and The Mandalorian, and scores for Black Panther (2018) and Tenet (2020).

Göransson’s composition and productions are thoughtful and involved, utilizing techniques such as retrograde composition on the Tenet soundtrack to fit with the temporal theme of the film, and researching traditional African instruments in Senegal for Black Panther. 14. Marco “MAG” Borrero

MAG began his career making with Fruity Loops before being brought to L.A. by Max Martin to serve as his protégé, and he takes a melodic approach to beatmaking. Ebony Naomi Oshunrinde, better known as WondaGurl, began making techno on entry-level DAW Mixcraft, and got her big break winning Battle of The Beat Makers in 2012. This led to her becoming the protégé of Boi-1da and working closely with Travis Scott.

In 2013 she created the beat for the Jay-Z track “Crown” along with Scott and Mike Dean, and has since made records with Rhianna, Usher and Ab-Soul.

More recently WondaGurl won the Jack Richardson Producer of the Year Award for her work on the songs “Aim for the Moon” by Pop Smoke featuring Quavo and “Gang Gang” by JACKBOYS and Sheck Wes.
