Creator Base ‘19: Watch the highlight reel

Back in August, we kicked off the first ever Creator Base – the ultimate music-making get-together and a tenth-anniversary celebration of all things MASCHINE. We brought fifteen of our favourite music production YouTubers to Berlin, set them up with a Native-powered studio (complete with flame orange MASCHINE), and showed them a side of the city that few ever see.

Of course, put a crowd of prolific YouTubers in the same room at the same time, and they’re going to do what they do best: Together, they’ve filmed, edited, and uploaded more combined hours of video than we could ever shoehorn into a single post, but we thought we’d have a go at distilling some of our favourites into this handy list.

Landmarq

Sanjay C shares footage from the most memorable trip of his life (his words, we swear) – look out for a few cameos and short interviews with other creators.

Accurate Beats

Accurate Beats makes the most of the studio we set up at the Hüttenpalast hotel: By creating a classic hip hop beat beat on the flame orange MASCHINE.

Sarah, the Illstrumentalist

Sarah, the Illstrumentalist presents a video travel log of her whole trip, from stepping onto a plane in LA to making beats at the Hüttenpalast.

Bo Beats

Teufelsberg (that’s “devil’s mountain” in German) is an abandoned Cold War–era US listening station. It’s also a great place to make a beat. See how Bo Beats’ put his together, pick up some production knowledge, and hear from a few of the other creators in this video.

Loopop & Accurate Beats

Not every video from the Creator Base was a solo effort. Here, Loopop and Accurate beats show you how to scratch on the TRAKTOR S4, and throw in a few extra highlights from their trip.

I’m A Music Mogul

Another full-trip recap, this time from Toronto’s I’m a Music Mogul. This one pairs behind-the-scenes beatmaking with some spectacular drone footage from Teufelsberg.

BONUS: Landmarq & Datsunn

Okay, this one’s not technically from Creator Base, but it is heartwarming. After meeting in Berlin, Landmarq and Datsunn were determined to pair up back home and make some music together – and weren’t about to let a little 450-mile drive get in the way of that.
