At Native Instruments, we are always looking for new ways to empower artists everywhere with the tools and knowledge they need to create their sound.
Today, we’re announcing a groundbreaking partnership with GRAMMY Award-winning artist Tems, launching the Leading Vibe Initiative and welcoming her to the Native Instruments Artist Board.
This collaboration is more than just a partnership – it’s an important step forward in nurturing diverse talent and building a more inclusive future for music creators across Africa.
Leading Vibe Initiative: Empowering the next generation
This visionary program, spearheaded by Tems, will equip emerging women in music starting in Lagos with the essential tools, training, and mentorship they need to thrive.
The music industry, globally and especially in Africa, still faces a significant gender imbalance. With reports showing a stark underrepresentation of women in roles like artists, songwriters, and producers, programs like Leading Vibe Initiative are not just beneficial – they’re crucial.
The initiative will offer:
- Comprehensive training: Hands-on learning in sound engineering and music business.
- Mentorship: Guidance from experienced artists, engineers, and professionals in the industry
- Cutting-edge tools: Access to a host of the latest sounds and instruments from Native Instruments, including Komplete Select, a bundle of cutting-edge synths, sampled session instruments, and iZotope’s industry-standard mastering suite, Ozone 11.
As Tems herself shared, “The Leading Vibe Initiative is about opening doors for the next generation of women in music across Africa. It’s about giving them the knowledge and the support they need to tell their stories through music.” We couldn’t agree more.

Tems joins the Native Instruments Artist Board
Tems is also joining the Native Instruments Artist Board. This advisory collective features world-renowned musicians, producers, and engineers like Alicia Keys, Jacob Collier, and Noah “40” Shebib. Tems will bring her unique perspective and invaluable artist-first feedback to guide the development of future instruments and address the creative challenges facing artists globally.
Bomo Piri, VP of Brand at Native Instruments, put it perfectly: “With Tems on our Artist Board and our partnership on the Leading Vibe Initiative, we have a unique opportunity to bring that mission to life, empowering artists everywhere with the tools and support they need to create freely.”
This partnership is a testament to our shared vision for a more accessible and expressive music landscape. We’re incredibly excited for the opportunities these initiatives bring to artists in Africa and across the globe.
