London jazz production duo put together an exclusive performance for Native Instruments, showcasing their soulful dexterity with MASCHINE at the heart of their setup.

In an exclusive studio session for Native Instruments, London based production duo Blue Lab Beats showcase a brand new composition using the latest MASCHINE and KOMPLETE KONTROL. Blending together musical genres featuring elements of jazz, soul, and hip hop, the duo mix together a set of sketches, epitomising their exceptional stylistic approach.

Comprised of North-West London producer NK-OK, a.k.a. Namali Kwaten – and multi-instrumentalist Mr DM — David Mrakpor — Blue Lab Beats are fast becoming an integral part of London’s booming jazz scene. With the ability to create beautiful sonic hooks, through their off-the-cuff creativity, Blue Lab Beats have affirmed themselves as steadfast producers within their own right. As a production and remix team they have credits attached to the likes of Dua Lipa, Rag’n’Bone Man, and more, and with a set of recent EPs still in heavy rotation, the duo have been working on their forthcoming LP Xover, to be released later this year. Featuring the talents of Moses Boyd, Nerija’s Nubya Garcia, along with an assortment of various brass, keys and modern percussive talents, the album is touted to be a contemporary mix of soulful digital, and mindful melodies.

Following on from their appearance at Native Sessions Berlin, Blue Lab Beats joined Native Instruments for an intimate studio session in which they showcased their musical virtuosity with MASCHINE and KOMPLETE KONTROL at the heart of each sketch. Using delays, double time patterns and effects and a wide variety of sounds, and expression, Blue Lab Beats flaunted their innate ability to perform using various styles, techniques and timings, easily highlighting why they’re one act to keep an eye on in the near future.
