Watch: In the studio with Nabihah Iqbal

Formerly known as Throwing Shade, producer and DJ Nabihah Iqbal deconstructs ‘Something More’, from her 2017 LP ‘Weighing of the Heart’ released on Ninja Tune.

Recording in her London studio, the NTS Radio presenter distanced herself from her electronic productions of recent years, focusing on guitar-based, synth music that created the backdrop to her formative, early teenage years. Using KOMPLETE KONTROL to create synth melodies in MASSIVE, she also goes on to run the bassline and vocals through GUITAR RIG, in addition to creating the drumline using the 808 Southern Kit from the MASCHINE factory library on the MASCHINE JAM.
